Training: Utilizing the Express Options application when preparing for an audit

The Express Options application is adding extensive audit reporting with its version 9.0 due to be released in 2008. During this session, a panel of presenters including a client, a leader from the GPS project and Computershare representatives will go over the concept behind the new audit features. They’ll discuss how to use the features, walk through a ”real-world” audit problem and then show how the features can be used to solve the issue.

Case Study: A new spin to the old spin
At the end of 2007, Temple-Inland took a unique approach to spinning off two subsidiaries. Once the transaction was completed, Guaranty Financial Group, Forestar Real Estate Group and Temple-Inland employees would have an employee-like equity relationship with each company - maintaining the original Temple-Inland grant structure and continuing to vest with awards in each of the three entities. In addition to many of the logistical challenges of their spin-off, they faced obstacles of how they would allocate expense and tax benefits moving forward. With this type of creativity comes…opportunities…and Temple-Inland chose to meet these opportunities head-on. With the clock ticking fast, see what the three companies, with some assistance from Computershare, were able to accomplish.
